Fixing what wasn鈥檛 broken
The night was beautiful and considerably better when we settled on the lawn above the theater. Tight seating at the Greek made this concert goer uncomfortable. Hotel California - The Original Eagles Tribute did nothing to engage the audience, not anywhere near as good as the original classics. Would have paid three times as much to hear them play straight through The Moondance Album. Not anywhere near as good as the original classics. The few old favorites they played were updated versions. Just give the people what they want. The evening got better when we left our paid seats and could enjoy it without a bunch of prickly baby boomers touching our personal space. No words of greeting or chit chat between songs. Most of the set was newer music which never had commercial success - for a reason.
The Foos are the Greatest!
The sound was great, and the band was incredibly tight and entertaining. Dave can stop with his head shaking (a little ego-smash might help) but he was rockin'. I also enjoyed the lighting and graphics on the stage, and I can't remember the last time I liked the lights and images so much. I'm 56, and I brought my 18-year-old daughter and 2 of her friends from college, and we all had a blast! This was my first Hotel California - The Original Eagles Tribute concert, and after 40 years of seeing concerts (Stones, Who, U2, Bruce, etc.), I have to rate this in the Top 5. I also liked the age diversity of the crowd.
